This is natural methane, not natural gas. Nat gas wells are thousands of feet below the water table. Do some research.

It's not just the well water being bad. The air and ground is contaminated also by the drilling with some pretty nasty chemicals. Yes I agree let's get less dependent on foreign oil but lets not kill millions of Americans to do. I'm glad I don't leave by a natural gas well because would blow it up rather then breath in benzine 24/7.

Methane gets into water naturally too....it's also not toxic. PS natural gas is twice as clean as coal, would create hundreds of thousands of jobs and decrease our dependence on foreign oil.
