He let go of my arm as we walked into the kitchen. His parents were fixing breakfast.
Joseph have you seen Nick anywhere?, Mrs. Jonas asked
No. Let me go look for him, Joe said. He motioned for me to stay downstairs. After all of that happened I wasnt about to get crossways with Joe.
Alex. Are you alright?, Mr. Jonas asked noticing the scared-to-death look that spread across my entire face. The thought of telling him briefly went through my mind, but I realized that would be stupid, knowing what Joe would do to Nick.
Im fine, just feel kind of sick, thats all., I lied. Then Joe came in with Nick who had a swollen eye, and looked like he was in some pain. Nick stood stiff, and didnt say a word.
Mom, he was being beat up by this gang of kids outside. I got there right in the nick of time to save him., Joe said. He was a good liar, too good.
Oh, Nicholas look at you! Thank goodness Joe was there to save you., Mrs. Jonas said sounding worried. I couldnt believe Joe, I couldnt stand him. I needed to get away from him.
Mrs. Jonas, I am going to go now. My dad doesnt even know Im over here. Ill come over later today if thats alright, I said with a big lump in my throat. I looked over at Joe, he shot a death glare back at me, and I ran out, before anyone could say a thing. When I got back home, I was surprised to find Nolan sitting on by bed texting someone on his phone.
What are you doing here, I asked casually.
Waiting for you. Where have you been?, he said.
The Jonas house, honestly I had the worst morning ever.
I told Nolan about everything that happened this morning. We were pretty much best friends. Nolan Gerard Funk- he would do absolutely anything for me, even if I didnt ask him to. When I finished telling him, he was in shock. He was friends with Nick too, and was mad about it all.
Alex, you stay right here. Dont leave your room, I am going over next door to get Nick, and bring him here, away from that mongrel brother of his. Nolan was walking towards the door as I heard my phone buzz. I flipped it open 1 New Text from Nick Jonas
Help me.
I looked over into Nicks room and saw Joe walk in.
Nolan. Be careful., I warned him
Have I ever NOT been careful
Well lets see theres that time when-,
Nolan cut me off, Alex, no time to reccolect times when Ive been NOT CAREFUL. Ill be back in just a second. He said while running out the door. I watched as Joe threw Nick to the wall. Then Nick balcony door flew open and Nolan darted in.
