This dust devil came to lunch at the Richmond, VA, National Folk Festival at 1:20 PM on 14 October 2007. By the end of the video, the paper plates were about 2,000 feet above ground level. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the red tent had a 20 lb weight on each corner.

This was at the 69th annual National Folk Festival in Richmond, Va. Visible funnels are a result of dust being sucked up into the vortex, and while there was plenty of dust and straw to ruin everybody's food, there wasn't enough to make the funnel distinct. (This is my father's video, btw.)

Very Cool! Did the debris eventually come down? I love the way Dust Devils look so much like tornados!
