If you're wondering why your gun won't maintain that perfect zero, this video may provide some answers to that question.

  • great video

  • This video echo's all my problems for sure.

I took action and did some self re-loading after extensive research.

I used a 10 grain heavier bullet and a slower powder. The result was an MV of 2,850 instead of the factory 3,050 fps. This gave my gun a consistent acurate shoot.

My scope is ok, the balistics were not.

Got my Buck at 180 yrds. DOA. Thanks for this video, it got me thinking and doing.

Bullet weight, design and speed were my factors.

  • @semtech30 you could do that or learn how to compensate your shot according to wind, bullet weight etc.

  • @ihearvoices22 200 meters.

  • @pfp215 a free floated barrel does not mitigate the barrel harmonics but rather allows it to happen in a consistent way. also with a wood stock humidity and temperature will cause it to move and warp causing difference in barrel pressure. even a synthetic stock will move due to temperature. free floating the barrel is a really good free way to improve accuracy. bedding the action and a trigger job are good ways to spend money for accuracy too.

  • @99364375287629482837 how close are you shooting 25 yards?

  • Number 1 reason I see at range is using different type of ammo or buying a $29 Walmart scope shooting a magnum and wondering why it doesn't have the same zero.

  • my rifle shoots the same with 95 gr vmax at 3050 fps and 156gr oryx bullets at 2600 fps and everything between, I can take the rifle apart the barrel scope and stock and put it back again without change the point of aim/impact.

  • I understand the physics relating barrel harmonics and how the rifle is held, but aren't free-floated barrels meant to mitigate this somewhat?

  • @CanItAlready when i hunt i use a ghillie suit and shoot using a "ambush" method but i lay prone with a bipod
