Even if it was just a huge quarry. that would still imply that a very sophisticated ancient people who woudl were able to breathe underwater.. technologically. Or that it was a quarry from 8 to 10,000 years ago above water.
I believe at one point there were a lot more land masses on earth and civilizations that were lost like Atlantis. Due to catastrophic events & climate changes,it could have flooded these civilizations and made them go underwater... Which is why we see these type of structures underwater.
I think it's a submerged quarry. Geologists on the West Coast of Canada and the US know for a fact, plus by Japanese history, that Japan had several large earthquakes that sent tsunamis to the shores of North America. Perhaps one of these large earthquakes Japan had sunk one of these ancient quarrys.
At the Morien Institute's page, they have up to date info on these structures. Just find and click the Yonaguni link on the left side. HD pics are incredible. Hard to believe it's not man made. Seems Western scientists are in no hurry to help with this discovery. According to latest findings the "so-called 'Yonaguni Monument' is just one of a number of underwater megalithic structures in a 'complex' stretching for many hundreds of miles northeast of Taiwan."

Calling it a quarry doesn't change what it means.
Definately made by man and not god tho.
