  • I don't care how good Tamara's balances are - by ignoring the last prince, she destroyed the whole effect of the Rose Adagio. Aurora is supposed to be choosing between her four suitors here, not showing off how good she is at doing circus tricks...

  • the editor of this clip should be shot !

  • It should be noted she skipped 2 partners and two promenades, not just one. It isn't only the balance that is difficult but also the control to complete the 4 promenades while creating effortless balances in between. The audience doesn't realize the difficulty of the promenade when in fact they require as much control and strength as the balances, hence the double dose of difficulty at the climax of the adagio. One expects more of a great artist than this, this is disappointingly a circus stunt.

  • I'm not a fan of Tamara Rojo. Her technique is good but not great. I was disappointed that her working leg visibly dropped during her first balances in attitude. She also was completely off balance when she took her third suitor's hand for the turning balance in attitude at the end. And I cannot believe that she held her attitude for song long at the end, but wouldn't take the last suitor's hand. Unbelievably selfish. Alina Cojocaru's rose adagio is definitely the best one out there.

  • From a personal point of view, I feel that she could've done that balance at the end! I guess it could be argued that it ruins one of the most sacred adagio's in Ballet, but wouldn't the audience feel flattered to be treated with the one and only Tamara Rojo showing off a phenomenal balance? You heard that applause at the end - they loved it!

  • what an idiot! she can show off through the whole ballet whilst these 4 guys only have these 6 minutes of glory and she just has to flaunt that she can balance for more than 5 seconds. this is as selfish as you can get. Technichally she's awesome, i won't deny it, but artistically, as a dancer and as human being she's not worth anything

  • Why...why did she do that? Is it because she was a little off in the beginning with her balancing leg that she had to prove she does have amazing balance? I love Tamara, I think she is unbelievably talented. I enjoy watching her dance VERY MUCH, but I don't get the last part. If it was to show off...she doesn't need to. She is amazing even standing, so why change such a beautiful part from the most precious adagio in ballet? I still enjoyed it; thank you so much for posting.

  • @LittleBallerina1996 I know very well about the years of training, blood, sweat and tears needed to succeed (or at least try out) in this career. I wasn't trying to undervalue Rojo's work, but for a company who claim they are closer to the authentic Russian school and Petipa than even the Kirov itself, they should not mess up with the choreography like this. Of course, you are free to disagree with me. And if you don't like what I say in my comments, then don't read them.

  • @theamazingsoter ...Who on Earth are you to judge one of the Royal Ballet's top ballerinas? You have no idea how many years of training, blood, sweat and tears that girl has put into her career, and if she would like to 'show off' her balances she is well in her right to do so!

  • @bernsp I think you were the one who missed the point. It's not all about the balances. This is a Pas d'action - it's ALL about telling a story thorugh dance and mime, something most ballerinas today tend to ignore for the sake of showing off. I can't believe the ballet masters at the ROH let their ballerinas do this.

  • i think you've missed the point of the rose adagio as a virtuoso piece....it's all about the excitement of the balances...i bet the bravura performance of balance technique really got the audience going. whenever i go to see tamara dance this role, i expect her deliver this....if she didn't i think id want my money back

  • @ruicleroi love it though!!!
