Highlife was an awesome band. Saw them several times at Seventh Avenue South. Bass player was Rael Wesley Grant. KILLER band. And Guitar Avengers was cool with Steve Loecher on drums. No one is doing music like that now. Such a shame kids have to grow up with so little to choose from.

This fusion is what made the '80s so great. The '80s had the greatest number of songs with a saxophone since the '50s. A Jazz-hip hop fusion would be okay, but not the rock-hip hop fusion hell that many artists are using today.

Havent heard Daryll since the late 80s in NYC.
He had a great band called highlife with kenwood dennard and Delmar Brown.They really were killer.
Maybe too good to get a record deal.Wonder if theres any recordings of that anywere?Then he had The guitar avengers band?One of the best Mahavishnu/hendrix disciples ever.Nice to see hes still doing it.
