Dana Kaminski in The Super Mario Bros Movie

Working with Bob Hoskins was amazing. Much of the cast met for Sunday brunch, each week, to read Shakespeare plays out loud. Each of us read a role. Over bagels and coffee, Bob read his roles quietly, without embellishment; and, of course, he always played a lead. His reading (and this is around a conference table... we were all sitting in chairs) was the finest acting I have ever seen. And, effortless.Like "channeling".
His talent is mindblowing.
And, he was a great guy.
During the filming, he was aware that this movie was gonna sink his career.
Yet, still, he kept his professionalism, and dignity; he remained wonderful to work with.

Ah, yes, the memories...I remember how I was thrilled as a kid when a Super Mario movie came out. I saw it on video in 1994. I'm aware of it's flaws, but still, it's hard to not at least enjoy it a little bit for Bob Hoskins. And Dana Kaminski.

I remember I actually noticed her in that wonderful part as Daniella ages before I even informed myself about all the actors on that film. She was so charming, sweet and natural in that part. She was so much better than many actresses of today...
