Because the soul is not something physical like the body. The soul is beyond the physical otherwise called the metaphysical, just the same as the knowledge one might acquire which is in the symbolic realm or in the metaphysical realm of meaning.

As God has promised, He will take every soul into account for what they have done and the oppressors will be paid back in full measure due to the justice of God. And it is not the physicality of the person that receives the reward or the punishment

who is they? how the heck did they get that information? and what prove do they have for it?

second, what is a soul? what does it mean to have one? why does it make you superior? can you even be alive if you don't have a soul?
