I want to bring my connections and experience to work in East Macon.
When I first got involved with Macon, it was in the effort to revitalize downtown. That was where I lived and worked, and it is where I put my energy. For years, I worked on the board for Bragg Jam, where I co-founded the Moonlight Miles 5K. Then I joined the MaGa Film Festival and co-founded the Crossroads Writers Conference & Literary Festival, which will have its third conference this October.
I have worked with the College Hill Alliance, the Knight Foundation, the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Historic Macon, NewTown Macon, and most of downtown's musicians and entertainers from hip-hop and rock to stuff you can't even name.
I received the NAACP Earl T. Shinholster Award for "outstanding community service," and an award from Mercer University and the STOP organization for a series of articles I wrote about Sex Trafficking.
In all this work, I've built relationships that I can still call upon with people and organizations who want to bring their expertise over to the Eastside so we can achieve our potential.
Help me do that. Vote for Chris Horne on July 19th!
