@MW2EMP Seriously, video makers need to stop throwing in the overused music.

Much better if you adjust or increase the paging file 1.5 times the number of your physical RAM.
-
@TechGeeksOnline Do you think windows 7 will use pagefile over ram? no... it will use ram until it runs out... so disabling the pagefile is just a placebo effect.
apps will crash if you run out of memory, thats what it's there for, disabling it causes no speed increase whatsoever because it's not used until it's needed
-
ha? disable paging file..?
so.. you don't have paging file..
can't make error..??
-
Why would you do this? Even if you have enough ram its a bad idea, considering some applications look for the paging file I would recommend lowering down the paging file to 256mb or 512mb. Also if you don't have a lot of memory and you have 2 HDD move the paging file on the HDD windows is not installed on it will make it run faster.

i have a 8 gig usb dirve dedicated to windows 7 ready boost so is it ok to disable page filing???? please respond. thank you
-
I am sorry but this will not speed up anything because with enough RAM, page file isn't used actively anyways. Also Windows 7 (or any NT-based Windows) requires pagefile to be present at all times (for recording memory crash dump, for instance).
-
enable pagefile only when you have encounter with memory error messages, if you never get memory error message from software you use, disable pagefile better for your hdd, use pagefile to prevent memory error messages appear
-
its a bad idea. just turn off pagint exutives
HKLM\system\current controll set\controll\session management\memory management\ disable pagint excutives set zero to one...
the page file holds applications that cannon t fit on the ram if you go over the amount of ram you have then the app is loaded in page file or fake ram and to run again it has to be loaded into the ram and another program from the ram is thrown in the page file until the one you want to run can fit in your ram

That is 100% correct. If you have enough RAM however, you can store everything in RAM which is faster.

Why does this not work on less than 3gb ram?

It will work but it depends on how much you multitask. It will probably work fine with even 2 GB on Windows XP.
It's just that if you go over your RAM capacity your computer will be REALLY slow.

I was under the impression that instead of 'no paging file', you'd be better suited to set the initial size and maximum size to the same as your total available memory. What have you heard?
Great vid!

The paging file can help but if you have enough memory to do without it it's only slowing you down by slowing down read/write speeds.
