@bjoel125 peasplitter is right bjoel125. Gross misrepresentation and undermines and degrades true Barbershop champions. I don't want people to look at this and think that this is where Barbershop is in the 21st century. These guys are ok at best, which is fine, but don't label this as 2008 Barbershop Champions. Listen to Crossroads, Four Voices, OC Times, Platinum, Keepsake and other "real" Barbershop champions. These guys are having fun, but champions? Come on man...

@peasplitter what? They aren't international worthy, but theyre clearly singing barbershop. The balance and everything is there, they just happened to use microphones for each person. Not every single concert is rigged correctly to gain proper balance for barbershop, besides actual contests.

follystar, barbershop singing is about listening to and harmonising with other singers. When four people simply try to out-sing each other without listening, it's bad enough. Now when they are called 'Barbershop Quartet Champions 2008' on YouTube - now that! That is a gross misrepresentation of barbershop and what singers like me stand for. For you to call them 'champions' of barbershop tells me that you have no real appreciation for all the hard work that it takes to sing this type of music.

@peasplitter you're right, barbershop is rarely sung with four microphones, but by no means does that change they style of music or basic harmonics which constitute barbershop. Your disrespect towards this group has no merit, and in your own words is "a disgrace to real, dedicated...barbershop singers...". Barbershop is not only about making beautiful music, but maintaining a community which is formed in doing so. You, my friend are tearing this community apart. they are champions indeed

Barbershop is almost never sung karaoke-style with four microphones. Have a look at the hundreds of barbershop videos on YouTube. Barbershop is about listening to each other (while singing) to produce a certain sound. Calling yourselves a 'champion barbershop quartet', while producing a sound that can in no way be described as barbershop, is a disgrace to real, dedicated and much more talented barbershop singers all around the world. 'Karaoke quartet 2008' would be more appropriate.

Check for a local chapter of the "Sweet Adeline's". Lady barbershop singers.
