Hermit Crabs - Straw After Molt

Straw after molt. Still waiting for the other one. The Violas are under too. This vid shows some really cool features that at least I haven't seen before - the pores on the center pair of antennae, that thing just below the mouth! Nice view of the exo surface. Beautiful color.

@497Soccer Thank you! I got these at the local PetCo. Seems as though they came out of nowhere. The staff were not even expecting them. So far it was a one time thing. This was in the Spring of '09.

@sabi123ist Must have been a cool thing to see! I had one do that after my tank cleaning vid, recently. He must of fell backwards because when I found him he was upside down, with the exo spread out in front. I do no think he would have made it had I not found him, being soft and without strength. I put him in a sep. tank for a few weeks - turned out fine. Bummer though - happened inches to the left of my live cam view! Could have had the whole thing.

dont hermit crabs just sometimes alot of them start to molt around the same time

@sailor5687 I notice that too. Like both straws at the same time, same with the violas. Could be coincidence or something more.

Oh ok cuz I got a strawberry hermit crab from my local petco a long time ago, but now they font carry hermit crabs anymore
