Priceless. Scenes like this are so often overlooked. That chap is a dab-hand with that front loader. Do you remember how long it took to load the train?

I Thought that the branch closed the 6th of march 1994? That was the day i was born, and thats what ive read on the internet

Great stuff, when i was small i used to walk along the river between llanginor and brynennyn with my father and would often see a loaded 37 coming down the valley.this was back in the early 80's when the pits were still open.Would 96 have been the reclaimation project?

Quite brilliant! Saw the wagons being loaded many a time at Maesteg or Pontycymmer although that was mainly into MDV type wagons. I also went swimming at Llangeinor baths frequently and recall a vacuum set of wagons drifting past with one of the local 37 fleet at the helm. They really were happy days I think over out 'standard' railway we have these days.

A little filmed activity, and I loved the way those MGR hoppers buckled under the weight of the coal when dropped from the loader..well done...5*

Thanks...
Something I wish I filmed was the digger driving down the huge incline to the left of me when it came down the hill to load the wagons
