Watch the stereo version:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=415vJGqKmvY

Very rare 7" track given away free with the NME magazine Feb '87. From the legendary Steinski of "lessons 1 2 3" fame. Cut up commentary of the JFK assassination over a hip hop beat. Although very dated sounding now , and not very danceable , this was hugely influential at the time.

  • This track finally taught me the main difference between President Kennedy and President George W Bush. One had his brains blown out while the other behaved as if he'd had his brains blown out.......

  • Not very danceable? People have lost their soul, old music isn't getting worse as time passes people. It's the new music that's starting to suck. We're so used to every single track on every single album being a 'club' jam that we now believe anything else is 'not danceable'.

  • Isn't this the edited version? The one I had played the sample "flash" when the reporters says "here is a flash"

  • @bunnykrisfalowski Obviously I meant STEINSKI.

  • Just to repeat a post I put on the We'll Be Right Back thread. I have the NME Hat Trick EP featuring this version. As you can (just) see from the image here it came out in the UK in FEB 1987 and it's credited to Steinsky & the Mass Media feat. DJ ET! On the same side is Sonic Youth – White Cross (Live) and, again, if you squint, you can see that in the image above as well. And, on the flip, oh boy: Sly & Robbie – When You're Hot You're Hot (Live in London)!

  • excellent. i just remembered this track and thought i wonder if YouTube has it. and it did! great stuff. thanks for upload.

  • would love to add this to my collection...

  • Still got my two copies of this. Came free with NME mag which I think was about 50 pence at the time. So, the two copies of this cost me a pound.

Not even sure how much it's worth today, but I know it ain't cheap.

  • how much is the NME 7" worth?

  • i paid £1000 for this on tommy boy label as it was still in the shrink !!!! i still have it and want to open it but dont want to de value it !!! lol
