As usual, there is nothing from the 2009 G1 in this video.

Shinsuke Nakamura has been a mainstay for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and has accumulated quite a great deal of success during his career. In 2003, he became the IWGP Heavyweight Champion for the first time, even if it was a short reign. In 2004, he and Hiroshi Tanahashi teamed up, and together they won the IWGP Tag Team Titles. After losing them, Nakamura took an excursion to North America to better hone his skills. He came back a changed man. His strength was vastly improved, allowing him to lift the likes of Manabu Nakanishi and many others. His new finisher, the Landslide, would steam roll over virtually the entire New Japan roster, and would win him the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. A month later, he at last ended the IWGP Title debacle by defeating Kurt Angle, becoming the Undisputed IWGP Heavyweight Champion. That success wouldn't last, and since then, Nakamura has slowly changed. Now, he has become a mean spirited individual, knocking out anyone and everyone who stands in his way. Boma Ye, indeed!

  • hey SD why is it that in japan the wrestlers name is said reverse. i.e. kanemoto koji

    but we say koji kanemoto?

  • I believe it's a part of the Japanese culture to put emphasis on the name of the family before the name of the individual, but I'm not too sure on that.

  • which match was it where he delivered the super landslide? and has he ever done it in another match? anybody? 'cause the super landslide is super badass!

  • vs Hiroshi Tanahashi at the 2008 Tokyo Dome show

  • I love nakamura's style, has he worked heel the majority of his career? His leather lace up pants were always pretty bad-ass looking to me

  • He's only worked full blown heel for the last nine months or so.

  • @SadisticScott Where can one who was very young at the time review the list ???

  • @5150Notorious187 Arabs too

  • @TheSuicidalDragon That is right.

  • @TheSuicidalDragon Actually, you're quite right about that. It's to identify bloodline first and foremost, and then to distinguish the individual from the bloodline in a secondary nature. It ties in with Shintoism and is related to the belief that your family's spirits are your guiding force in life. It's sort of a polytheist nature, but instead of gods, it's ancestors.

  • That Shining Triangle looks so sick.

  • the boma ye is more brutal than the knee trembler
