Chestnut Hill is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The neighborhood is ten miles northwest of Center City. Its boundries are Cresheim Valley Drive, Stenton Avenue, Northwestern Avenue, and the Wissahickon Gorge. Originally, the area was inhabited by the Lenape (also known as the Delaware Indians). In the late 17th century the English Quaker and founder of Pennsylvania, William Penn, granted the land to Palatinate families. In 1854, Chestnut Hill became part of Philadelphia. Today, The National Trust for Historic Preservation named the neighborhood as one of America's dozen distinctive destinations in 2010. For more details check out http://www.chestnuthillpa.com/
