LOL - at 1:57 he sings "Sallee Dame" which is creole slang for "dirty lady" - Sallee Dame was an "insult song" like "the dozens". I wonder what the translation is for the end of the Salle Dame phrase? - Danny was known to throw a few ribald things in. But only in a way that if you got it, you were supposed to - while it sailed over the heads of the others.
He really illustrates how to play with a song lyric and have fun with it.
One of the founding pioneers of New Orleans jazz - from founding a marching band to recording with Dizzy & Charlie - he was loved by all and recorded with them all. A wonderful long life 1909 - 1994.
