  • this style ignores the stronger lower half, using the weaker upper half.result:less-than-optimum batspeed that you COULD generate.the wider the base the less lower body torque involved. BAD.start with a short base & get the body weight in motion at the ball=greater forward energy.all other things equal you will make greater end batspeed.barry bonds' style does not translate to growing young players.to imitate abnormally strong players whose strength you can't match.. different result. bad.

  • great point about Punching - you just dont hear enough about that with kids

    I highly recommend you and others start off showing kids and having them punch a hand a few times until the point they realize the load stance they take to put power in a round house -

  • Ive seen videos of barry bonds doing the no stride and the big leg lift. So is that common to not use the same stride, like maybe if you are protecting or maybe the pitch makes you change, or do you typically stick to your stride no matter the circumstance?

    Also is there a stride you prefer?
