Middle Earth city of Gondolin from the "Silmraillion" made in Minecraft. A few specific details were taken from "The Book of Lost Tales" (An early version of the Silmraillion unpublished until after Tolkien's death) rather then the Silmarillion itself. For the purist out there yes we obviously had to take some liberties due to both the lack of detail in the source material and the natural limitations of minecraft.

We made the vast majority of the city by hand, placing around 200k blocks and spending roughly 75 man hours to build it. These of course are rough estimates as I wasn't exactly evil enough to make my minions clock in and out as they worked. Maybe next time...

Hope you enjoy it!
