  • Yeah, I realize it now... it just seemed a bit overkill for what actually happened. The girl in question passed out from low blood sugar, and someone panicked and called 911...when she woke up, she refused to go to the hospital, so really, they didn't even get to do their job (other than show up when called)...

  • Our job isn't just to show up and take someone to the hospital. Treatment on scene is one of our primary reasons for existance. Fire and police personnel are often dispatched because they're usually nearby and can initiate treatment. Many diabetics get combative because of their blood sugar being too high or too low, and police can prevent them from hurting themselves or others until they can get medical care. Firefighters can initiate that medical care. We continue care and transport.

  • thats one sexy lightbar

  • ya i am a fireman and if an ambulance is called a firetruck and aleast one cop is dispattched to the seen!!!!! o crap got ot go>>>>there is a bad car crash downtown

  • Like clanusb said, they usually send all three. The police can usually get there the fastest because they're already on the road, and they're usually trained in at least basic first aid and CPR. And the fire department usually has medically trained personnel, so they can help if needed.

  • yeah theres a reason why all three show up. Fire and EMS work together, most are even the same dept. and police provide scene security.
