  • you can dehydrate cooked sausage nuggets and just rehydrate them while mixing your batter and add it in to the bannack before cooking. makes a ncie meal. or you can add rehydrated fruit for a sweet bread.

  • Thats a great trick - I will have to try that - what kind of sausage do you like to trow in?

  • gr8t video like the idea of bread on a cup

  • Thanks - I plan on doing a couple more of these soon one over a fire and another with a new stove

  • Another thing I do is have the ingridients mixed in a ziplock, and then add water in the field. Mix ,in the bag and sqweeze out .Nice job bro !

  • That is definately a cleaner way in the field, the dough is some very sticky stuff at times!

  • @StrykingHawk try using a metal plate to disburse the heat

  • Sir, do you know if there are cornbread recipes that are good for fire top ?

Most of the ones i am familiar with are for an oven. Thank you

  • I made a batch of whole wheat bannock...using your recipe...and it is pretty decent. Whole wheat flour has a different texture and flavor, but if you put butter, peanutbutter, or honey on it...it is REALLY good. I might try adding some cinnamin into the mixture for added variety. Good stuff!

  • Heres a little tip. Try using clarified butter, it keeps well in a pack for a long while, and gives you the use of oil with the flavor of butter. A little goes a long way.

  • @canteencorner I love scones in morning with scorching hot milk tea.... Sorry.... that's how i grew up..

  • nice. great demo.

  • @canteencorner

  • man you have some large jets on your stove those flames are huge!

  • hey man, i tried makin the bannock bread, and it was really good. i add honey or cinnamon though. i also FINALLY got my canteen cup yesterday haha. i couldn't find one in stores, and so i asked my brother in law and he gave me one from an army base. it's pretty cool. the same kind you prefer.
