  • This is actually what we study. But i have been told that really no one speaks like that - slang and more proper English to ppl you have to respect like empoyer or business partner

  • americans dont have formal and informal words... we just kinda talk. there is always a level of speech for someone you respect, but thats just the word you choose

  • I am an american and we get our language from the English but to the best of my knowledge we do not have formal/informal or male/female counterparts to our language. The closest we may get to this might be "slang" which may be considered informal. there are also a number of dialects. In any case, it is a pleasure to meet you...
