  • na not at all in this case but i do know what you mean pal....the short ratio box i fitted helps overcome the drag problem and the masses of torque i have help too! thats why at several drag strips (1/4 mile) i get over 90 mph and just beat the likes of a focus st (15.99 is an average time for me)and the focus has more power than a mx5 and less drag than the van

  • Yeh, the transit won, but only up to about 70, any faster and the aerodynamics of the van will become too great and slow the acceleration down. Over the quarter I reckon the mx5 would win.

  • hi bud, the van actually outruns the mazda up to 110 mph! and also matched a standard focus st on the 1/4 last year...the vans aerodynamics are poor but the shortend gearbox makes up for that and helps with the acceleration

  • Not too bad for a Transit, but i would have thought it would have killed the MX5 a little more with all that power and torque. For a sports car MX5's are dissapointingly slow after all. What's the weight of the this model of transit when it's standard?

  • that run was without nitros on so it only just beat the mazda....and had crappy rubber(now on 18" pirelli)

  • is this your van dave???????

  • could be dude

  • you should get water injection for it , its a good safegard also improves performance by anything from 10 to 20%

    and improves fuel econemy

  • @oldboi1 yh i can see that would be annoying

  • @oldboi1 so you can carry tools and pull a trailer up hill all at the same time, take it you dont drive a van then, they serious gutless when u load em up.
