a Double Dropt D Tutorial
a study of the tuning of double dropped d or D modal as it is sometimes called( dADGBd ). this week we're citing the bluegrass standard "i know you rider" which was covered by the grateful dead, jorma kaukonen and others. 3 Guinnesses were used in the performance of this Vid, plus one more for editing, so technically thats 4 Guinnesses total, full disclosure and all that...this was tudders idea man ...;o)
Be sure to tune in ( no pun intended ) for next weeks installment of the Double Dropt D Tutorial when we will take a look at "Wooden Ships"!

Yep, the Dead (among others) covered "I Know You Rider", an american folk song of unknown origin.

I have another name for this tuning, Gadd9. Robert Johnson used a tunning called Aadd9 wich goes EBEAc#e, this is exactly the same just a whole step lower.
