Real Girls - Daniel Amos

A video I mixed together in the 1980's for the song Real Girls by Daniel Amos. Nothing official, but I did see Terry Taylor (lead singer & song writer) at a music festival, and he said he liked it.

@05neal This video was done the old fashioned way back in 1983 or '84...two VHS video machines and a record player. That's one reason the video quality is low, and there are flushes of color racing across the screen at some edit points.

I'm not sure what Daniel Amos has to do with your "white Republican fake Christians bringing on God's wraith" rant. Apparently you are a non-white Democratic real Christian... if I follow the semi-logic of your sermon. Actually, the only things you said that made any sense was "Good song...clever song."

Edited well, and a good collection of images. But really, the only shot I saw of something that really echoed the song's question in any depth was that of Boy George. I mean, what about an image of Sigourney Weaver from the Alien series? If you're going to have famous singers there, then what about Janis Joplin to counter Boy George. And how come they're all whitie 'girls' or is that women? What about Aretha Franklin? She's big, she's black, but god she's beautiful!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. If I were inclined to do an update of this video I could definitely see flashing a lot of quick shots of famous women and female archetypes like the ones you suggested. You have to remember I put this together over 20 years ago using my rather meager video collection at the time. I had no idea back then there would be a venue where anyone in the world with a computer might watch it.
