Using high-altitude atmospheric balloon capable or reaching the stratosphere, we captured HD footage of the curvature of the earth with the blackness of space behind it from over 100,000 feet using an HD Hero Pro Camera. Using two custom made iPhone applications and the CUSF Landing Predictor, we were able to track the location of the balloon as it traveled.

The camera returned over 2 hours worth of video. This is just a clipped down teaser. Full details about the experiment can be found on the project page here: http://kevinjameshunt.com/near-space-balloon/balloon-launch-1-report/
