4.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 3g & iPod Touch 2nd gen (WINDOWS Users)

IMPORTANT: Please READ and Understand all iPhone 3g users DO NOT Update your iPhone 3g to new 4.1 firmware that is used in this Video if you rely on Ultrasn0w or Blacksn0w to Unlock. Reason being new 4.1 Firmware will make you loose your Unlock since it changes your baseband. And the current baseband 5.14.02 (belongs to 4.1 Firmware) is Unlockable at this time. So Please read all of the above again if something is not clear.

This Video is on Jailbreaking your iPhone 3g and iPod Touch 2nd generation running 4.1 firmware using Windows Computer. Jailbreaking Tool used here is Redsnow 0.9.6. And Yes it supports 'Hacktivation'. iTunes Version used here is iTunes 10.

Note: if you have an "MC" model of the ipt2g, your 4.1 jailbreak will be tethered. Meaning, whenever you reboot your iPod Touch MC Model you will have to run Redsnow again from your Computer to get it opened in normal mode.

TROUBLESHOOTING :

a) If you run Redsn0w and it gets stuck at waiting for reboot or uploading Ramdisk then plug out usb cable from your iphone 3g/iPod Touch 2g at that time and Plug it back in. Redsn0w will start where it stopped.

b) If while running Redsnow, it gets stuck on uploading Ramdisk or waiting for reboot, then hold home and Power buttons together on your iPhone or iPod Touch for few seconds till it shuts off. Don't hold buttons too long that it turns back on again. Now when it is completely off then run Redsnow again.

c) If Redsnow gets stuck during Jailbreaking Process then simply reboot your Computer. Now run Redsnow after rebooting computer. IT will run smooth.

d) This is fourth troubleshoot that you can do is: Right Click on Redsnow and hit Properties. Then go to 'Compatibility' tab. Here Check mark 2 things. One will be on top that says 'Run this program in Compatibility mode for' (select Windows 98 / Windows ME from drop down menu) and second will be at the bottom that says 'Run this program as administrator'. Done. Now run Redsnow.

e) Also while running Redsnow, when it is time to hold buttons- at the end keep holding home button as long as 30 seconds till jailbreak data picture appears on iPhone/iPod screen. Done.

@mouadfone well if u connect ur phone to ur comp and just open itunes wile u have the emergency page and just leave it for 10-20 sec it should fix it.. hope this helps

When trying this with my2nd gen. 4.1 iPod touch Iraqis on my computer that it was not in dfu mode when I did EXACTLY what it says...
