Geography Minute - How the Map Was Made

In this Geography Minute, Cartographer David Imus takes you beneath the surface of his award-winning map as you see a portion of the map built layer by layer. Imus uses a computer today, but his first two Best of Show Maps - he has won four times in 15 years - were made by hand. This map was awarded Best of Show for 2010 in a the 38th Annual Cartography and Geographic Information Society national map design competition that included National Geographic's "Atlas of the World".
