The Jewish mantra regarding the Holocaust is "Never Again", not blame for the past. The past is important because forgetting it can lead to complacency.
As a Jew, I have railed against all genocide. Including Bosnia, which I blogged on. The history of the world includes numerous genocides against the Jews, but also a plethora of others.
Hitler initially enacted old laws against the Jews and said that the thing he respected most about the U.S. was how it treated the Indians.

I agree, NanKing was not genocide per se, but was as immoral. The gang raping of children and death by torture in Nanking was almost as bad as the throwing of babies out of windows. Nazis did not promote inefficient sadism, but it was usually condoned. Brutality was encouraged. Rape was uncommon as Jews were not considered to be appropriate consorts.
The Japanese on the other hand appeared to have been encouraged to rape and murder.

I have met two Mengele victims - one was my aunt

Collectivism. Hive behavior.

If you don't understand the Nazis back then, observe the terrorists today. Extremism is not rational. This is why we must constantly check ourselves to ensure we do not in turn become oppressive extremists.

Mohammed did not practice pure genocide. He did kill all the men in a Jewish tribe and keep the women as slaves or wives, but this was done on a specific basis. It was not good to anger him. He had treaties with several Jewish and Christian tribes in Saudi Arabia, but kept them disarmed and they could not fight in his army.
They were not forced to leave Saudi Arabia until after M's death, and were not killed, but relocated over about 20 Y; back to Palestine!.
