@redplague you can find better copies I have a few ... problem is the one with more then one guy doing it while great in quality is very high as a download ... I have the latter copies now and gave the earlier to relatives to keep. I personally purchased them all and I think it was completely and utterly worth it.
ftr though it was very very very very costly.

@Mechanisttm hey
do you know a proper way of attaining it?

Very interesting! There should be more vids on Youtube about audiobook production in general! I mean, aren't there hundreds, thousands of audiobooks out there?

@Mymloch If you look at the pronunciation page that Herbert wrote, it clearly shows the emphasis is on the second syllable. It is unfortunate.

1:15 Too bad she says she makes a big deal of pronouncing "Alia" and she pronounces it wrong by putting the accent on the second syllable as opposed to the first.

I just listened the audio book of Dune narrated by George Guidall. What an freaking awesome book. the book is pure genius what a gem to only read now. The voice acting by george is turely amazing. Highly recommended.

i live in albany, NY and we have a huge public library system - i was able to find the official audiobook of pretty much every single dune book, original and Herbert/Anderson. I got really lucky on that. i also own all the books, but i enjoy the audio experience more.

I tried looking for the audio book on the internet but all I could find was this one of a guy doing all the voices and that was crap.
So cool to watch some of the Dune readers talk about the experience--especially seeing Frank Herbert's original pronunciation notes!

I'd love to see the notes, too. Dune is a great old book (well, a series...)
