My mother gave me a gift certificate for Home Depot for my birthday last year. I took it and bought a palm nailer to help in building our deck. I made this video to show the difference in the two. First, is the speed of the nailer and second is the space needed to pound a nail with the hammer versus the nailer. In between joists on the deck is a small space and the nailer makes the job 1000% easier.

  • Good call. He does have some, they were just too big and he takes them off all the time.

  • why not get a framing nailer? this thing seems time consuming...

  • the hammer is faster!!!!!

  • Living on Venus explains the green atmosphere.

  • Hmm, well, these are good for close quarters but use them for a while and you can't feel your hand. OH, and I am sure there are vids around on hammering technique... You can drive a nail much faster than you did there. Nice vid for your mom though.

  • @jude109 They will work for toe nailing, but they would be a little more slow than using a framing nailer.

  • get real
