Dana Perino: We're Not Occupying Iraq, We Were Invited!

In this clip White House spokeswoman Dana Perino tells Helen Thomas that the US isn't occupying Iraq, and that we're there by invitation of the sovereign government of Iraq. Oh, and that we're there under a UN mandate. You know, the one that didn't authorize force?

@andro89 The U.N. Resolution said that there would be consequences if Saddam didn't allow the U.N. Weapons Inspectors into Iraq. Saddam DID allow the weapons inspectors into Iraq in 2002 and they didn't leave until BUSH KICKED THEM OUT in 2003!

I'm pretty sure Saddam Hussein didn't invite the U.S.

But yeah, we we're welcomed the first few months we we're there because the Iraqi people thought we would help them. When it became clear we we're just there for our own self-interests they organized and fought back.
