**TURN VOLUME UP**

November 6, 2011.

One of the greatest horses to ever live fell today. He was only a few weeks from retirement. Who knows if he was in pain while he ran his last round or not, he would never have let anyone know. He walked towards the gate as he finished his round. His body went rigid, and he fell. He writhed in pain, and soon after, he died.

Hickstead was an incredible stallion, who will never be forgotten. He, and his rider Eric Lamaze made the perfect team. They flew around the courses effortlessly.

I can only imagine Eric's devastation right now. His incredible mount.. gone in seconds.

Rest In Peace, Hickstead

Side note: I do not know why I decided to mix this quote with this song for Hickstead. It just seemed to fit.

  • Thats amazing, whether he was in pain or not, horses know when they are going to die, and he finished that round for his rider before dying.
