I'm wondering who was responsible for saving all those old heavy steel coaches with open windows from the scrapper's torch back in the 60's and 70's? There's a whole bunch from the DL&W, Reading, CNJ that were preserved must be almost 50+ total of all that were preserved. I live in eastern PA and there's a bunch of tourist RR's in PA, NJ, DE that have them. Like New Hope and Ivyland, Steamtown, Reading and Northern, Wanamaker, Kempton and Southern, Black River and Western, Wilmington and Western
i rode the valley rr till my grandmother passed away in 2004.i remember seeing engine 40 & 97.i miss lots.brings back memories.i sure do miss it.nice ride,scenery,people,views.would like to go back and ride a few more hundred times.
