Chef Mario Batali returns to the Google New York Office for another discussion with Googlers and to demonstrate his new application, "Mario Batali Cooks!" available for Android and iPhone.

"I'm so excited to present my first ever app - the most advanced, robust, comprehensive cooking app ever built! I personally created 100% of the content in this app - 63 of my most requested recipes from the many regions of Italy, each with it's own video and still images made exclusively for this app. Then I added 25 technique and kitchen basics videos along with my own, personal introduction. This app allows me to get as close as I've ever been to personally cooking with you in your kitchen. So grab some extra-virgin olive oil, and let's cook some great food!!" - Mario Batali

A new vision for what a cooking app can be -- the most advanced and comprehensive cooking app yet.

Features include:

Browse recipes by region, course, prep-time, season, category of food or kid-friendliness.

  • What a bunch of awkwardness.....Google must've done this on a whim because Mario Batalli isn't exactly at the top of the heap anymore.

  • why not try Simply Good Fish app its on a free download for the iphone and ipad

  • I have this app on iPhone. Needs. More. Videos. It would be cool if an update that I would pay for, added more vids and recipes.

  • Oops. I meant I need batali back on food network. Not battle. Well a battle between Ramsey and he on iron chef would be awesome.

  • I need battle back on good network. My favorite chef. He and Ramsey. He is better than Ramsey - has more technique but Ramsey is hilarious too

  • Mario could have done a better demo of the app himself.

  • The google guy should've just shut up and let Mario keep talking. He obviously didn't listen to a word Mario said since the first question he asks when he gets back to the podium is the answer Mario gave in his introduction! It's an awesome app though. If I ever get money for a 'nice' phone I want that app...then I can drool over Mario and his food all day long ;)

  • This guy has rare passion and knowledge. Awesome.

  • 1,273 customers at Otto on one Saturday! Jesus christ Mario.

  • he is so right, the era of "chefs" is over,it is time for food to show up and not the people
