This was released in the 70's and I loved how different is was I bought 3 copies when it came out

Funny how she entered the business with such a clear vision of who she wanted to be as an artist–famously insisting on the power to choose her own material (unheard of at the time for a new act signing her first recording contract)–only to lose confidence (or maybe interest?) around 1970 and proceed to flounder from genre to genre for the rest of her career. nobody sings crap so beautifully as barbra. but it's hard not to wish there had been more, more, more of the great stuff.

Notice how the arrangement "doubles" her voice, which was very much a recording style in the 50s and 60s. Lesley Gore and Petula Clark did it all the time on their songs but I can't think of another on which Streisand was asked to do it.
