This is an episode of Raynaud's phenomenon triggered by cold. My fingers turn pale white, then purplish, then red. They go numb when circulation ceases, then can be very painful when blood flow is restored.

  • I have Raynauds and it is very very painful, sometimes i cant walks because there is no blood flow much in the winter time.

  • When the blood flow starts again is it unbelievably painful? I have nerve damage in my finger from this and metal sculpting, and the only time I can really feel my fingers is when the blood starts flowing again.

  • Brilliant example ,dark blue spidery veins that appear but were`nt as prominent before episode. What people should realize is the hands become cold then refire up and become hot , overly red as blood flow returns.I have this as well and sometimes it can make a person panic, even in summertime?.At some future point I will video my episodes.Good Vid

  • thanks ^^

  • @Obsidian1392-Raynaud's disease and phenomenon are same symptomatically. its called disease when it is alone n called phenomenon when its associated with other systemic diseases like CREST syndrome, Scleroderma.

  • @Obsidian1392 Their causes are different. Other than that I think they are the same.

  • what's the difference between reynaud's disease and phenomenon?

  • it said to be a late sign and an extra-articular feature of Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • A friend of mine was just diagnosed with this. She told us that she doesn't know if it's genetic or a secondary problem caused by something else. She had cervical cancer previously and it predisposed to getting tumors. Her boss got severe raynaud's but it was because of a tumor on his spine. It made him numb permanently on his left side.
