The AP reported that this year's Super Bowl was the most- watched Super Bowl ever as well as the most-watched program of any kind in American history - for the second year in a row. Meet the man behind it all (literally, the guy running things behind the scenes), the NFL's Senior VP of Events, Frank Supovitz, who will be joining us here at Google NYC to talk about the making of a successful Super Bowl, and the technology behind the NFL. He will be joined by Sammy Choi, Director of Event Presentation.

As Senior Vice President of Events for the National Football League, Frank Supovitz oversees a staff of event professionals that stages some of the most prestigious and widely-viewed sports events in the world, including the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, NFL Experience, NFL Draft, and the NFL International Series. Supovitz joined the NFL in January 2005 after serving as Group Vice President, Events & Entertainment for the National Hockey League for 13 years, with responsibility for the planning and execution of the NHL All-Star Weekend, NHL Draft, NHL Awards Show, Stanley Cup Finals, and international competitions in Canada, Europe and Japan. Supovitz previously served as vice president of marketing/coordinating producer for EVENTURES, a New York-based mega-event production firm (1989-1992), and as director of special events and special projects for Radio City Music Hall Productions (1985-1989).

Supovitz was a featured character on NFL Full Contact, a 6-part behind-the-scenes documentary series on truTV in 2010. He received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree in Sports, Entertainment, & Event Management from Johnson & Wales University in 2003, and was inducted into the Event Industry Hall of Fame in 2006. He is the author of The Sports Event Management & Marketing Playbook (2004), and co-author of Dollars & Events: How To Succeed in the Special Events Business (1999), professional and academic textbooks published by John Wiley & Sons.
