Hi everybody! This video is dedicated to my youngest fan Shandi who always makes me feel good with her sweet comments! Now, if I'm not mistaken she's only 5 years old! Correct me if I'm wrong sweetheart! How cool is that?! Thank you sweetness for always putting a smile on my face! I hope you like this one (oh and I painted my nails again you'll see in next vid ;)
This page I did using a box of studio scraps I keep (fellow packrats I'm sure you'll understand) that range from little sentimental bits of ephemera to scraps from paper punches and other projects. When I'm feeling uninspired I dig through my little box and challenge myself to create something solely from what is in the box. On this page there's scraps from old scrapbook pages, a tag from a well loved jacket we got my daughter when she was 3, a wrapper from crayola bubble gum, some stained papers I made, and some bits of papers in various languages from various sources. If you haven't tried an exercise like this before you should give it a go sometime. You will find yourself using things that you may not have put together before, and result in creating some unique outcomes! =) But the experiment is half the fun, isn't it?
I found a quote that spoke to me and how I often feel about art, perhaps you will find it inspiring too. The quote reads: "First you jump off the cliff and you build your wings on the way down." ~Ray Bradbury
After filming this video there was a mishap in the studio when a bar that holds the window open fell and flung a cup of coffee all over the bench including on my newly finished page. In some of the pictures you can see the runs that it created. As luck would have it I actually kind of liked the effect and just did some touch up on the butterflies and lettering. Talk about your happy accidents!
There is also a guest appearence by Gus (aka the wrecking ball) my studio cat that normally has his 2 ton butt perched on the back of my chair. He was thrown out to the streets when his owner, my old neighbor, passed away and his kids no longer wanted to mess with "cat man's" cats. =( He's spoiled now though!
Well, I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions feel free to ask and I will do what I can to help. I hope you find inspiration in the video, thank you so much for watching!
Have a wonderful and creative day!
Arttie

You take layering to a whole new level. I love it! So very inspiring.
I've been trying with a page I've done some colour on, did not like it, and could not get beyond that. Now I will just go, go, go, and add more and more, inspired by you. Thanks!
