Inspirations for taiko songs can come from disparate sources. Kashmir, composed by Mark H Rooney, combines taiko rhythms Mr. Rooney learned from Igarashi Sensei (Miyabi Arashi Taiko School of Tokyo) with the hard-driving riffs from the Led Zeppelin song of the same name. Kashmir is a creative synthesis of the unabashed exuberance of rock 'n' roll with the precision and control of the Japanese arts. Recorded in 2006 at Odaiko New England's Crossroads concert.
