A CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED CLASSIC AND ONE OF THE GREATEST MONSTER MOVIES OF ALL TIME
The ocean's surface boils white-hot and a Japanese freighter mysteriously vanishes in the Pacific. Rescue boats meet the same fate, and the superstitious villagers of Odo Island fear an ancient legend has come true: the legend of Godzilla! Reawakened from eons-long sleep by an H-bomb test, the behemoth seeks revenge on the civilized world, turning Tokyo into a wasteland of atomic fire and rubble. Caught in the monster's path of destruction are young lovers Emiko and Ogata, who must betray their friend Dr. Serizawa, a brilliant but tormented scientist, in order to save the world.

Classic Media presents the original and uncut Japanese-language version of Ishiro Honda's GOJIRA (1956), and the popular "Americanized" version starring Raymond Burr as a reporter covering Godzilla's rampage.

  • @Dproguyzerz You must be the producer.

  • This the best trailer ever. I'm not being sarcastic it's awesome

  • Best godzilla movie ever

  • @CrankshaftRabbit9164 It's true that the original Japanese version is light years ahead of the American edited version but it was the Raymond Burr version that made Godzilla popular in America so you got to least give it some due.

  • @jaredowty Most people don't know about it since it was only in the original Japanese version, not the US version.

  • @hotheadpaisen Exactly. In my opinion, Gojira is far better than Godzilla: King of the Monsters. A lot more effective too. I've seen the Raymond Burr version long before Gojira a couple of times and now it just looks pathetic compared to the Japanese original....

  • @CrankshaftRabbit9164 I agree, but the advertising of the new DVD release may let some people know that if they have only seen thehollywoodized Raymond Burr version, they haven't really seen Gojira.

  • You know, this has to be one of the most epic looking trailors I've seen thus far. Except when the advertising dude starts talking T-T

  • @PrinceLuis100 Actually, Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Gigan, Biollante, and Destoroyah all disliked this video.

  • This was some serious stuff back in 1954 for the Japanese.
