[audio]

InuYasha (犬夜叉, InuYasha), full title InuYasha, a Feudal Fairy Tale (戦国御伽草子 犬夜叉, Sengoku Otogizōshi InuYasha?, lit. "Warring-States Fairy-Tale Book: InuYasha") (romanized as INUYASHA in Japan and sometimes Inuyasha), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. It premiered in Weekly Shōnen Sunday on November 13, 1996 and concluded on June 18, 2008. The series follows a time-traveling middle school student, a half-demon, a lecherous monk, a fox demon, a demon slayer, and a nekomata during the Sengoku period as they seek to find all the fragments of the Jewel of Four Souls (Shikon no Tama) and to keep them out of the hands of evildoers, especially Naraku.

The manga was adapted into a 167 episode anime series produced by Sunrise. Masashi Ikeda directed the first forty-four episodes, while Yasunao Aoki directed the remainder of the series. InuYasha premiered on Yomiuri TV in Japan on October 16, 2000 and ran until September 13, 2004. The television run of the anime ceased without a conclusion to the story.

In 2002, the manga won the Shogakukan Manga Award for best shōnen title of the year.

I was happy that she finally passed, but not because I hate her, I just thought it was best that her suffering ended. She reminded me of a soul in anguish that just wants peace and needs to be put to rest. I actually really liked kikyo's character. : )

  • don't get me wrong... kikyo was ok back in the day when she was a happy priestess... but she is a plain good example that you should never bring someone back from the dead... she causes so much grief from being brought back alive and her wanting to kill inuyasha then accidentally falling off cliffs etc and saying "naraku can never kill me. he has the heart of onigumo" (i spelt that wrong) gets old.. in fact i love it when she dies... because everything has its time and everything dies..

  • This reminds me of kikyos death when she pinned inuyasha to the tree with her arrow

  • lol... kagome´s face on these pics looks like she was singing from 0:33 onwards... :D

  • @Japanimegirl15 i agree

  • Sure, Kagome had her good moments, but most of the time she was just plain annoying.

The reason I felt Kikyo was so much better was because, unlike Kagome, she accepted Inuyasha's love for someone else and was able to forgive him. Kikyo knew Exactly what she was doing throughout the entire series. She also didn't "hate" Kagome, but simply disliked the girl because she was ignorant and focused more on love instead of the Real goal. Agreeable. and intelligent. Therefore, I choose Kikyo

  • I don't understand why people bash on Kikyo so much. For me, she's always been my favorite of the two. I understand completely why she acts the way she does. I feel sad for her, and I feel her pain. I mean, how would you like it if you came back to life, only to find that the one you loved betrayed you, and was cavorting around with some mini-skirted, flirty little naive highschool player who claimed to be your reincarnation and was your lover's new "love"? Yeah, I'd hate Kagome too.

  • i like sesshomaru and kikyo the best! i like intelligence and stoicness!

but inuyasha is awesome too :)

  • YES I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS ONE! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :D
