Catherine Alexander continues to speak with Father Abbot Nicholas of Holy Resurrection Romanian Catholic Monastery in Newberry Springs, CA about Eastern Catholic theology.
Questions Asked:
7. May they reject doctrine and dogmas proclaimed by Rome as incorrect or heretical, like papal supremacy?
8. What about doctrines or dogmas proclaimed after the treaties of union, like the immaculate conception?
9. May Roman Catholics reject Eastern or Oriental Catholic theology as outside their theological patrimony, incorrect or heretical?
10. What is the bottom line on what it means to the everyday Catholic that each of the rites includes its own theological patrimony?
@vasilyjc1955 Non-Catholic Christians are just as much "under" papal primacy as Catholics, they are just simply in denial of it.

In all honesty, this Priest is dancing around many of the subjects, in a way that says he is not trying to offend the Archbishop of Rome. thats no way to address issues! Either take them on head on, or reject the interview. Eastern Orthodox/Catholics do this so often its a shame!

@optimusimperat Is Rome some political entity or a religious center? Stalin expected people to be subservient, and he had full, supreme, immediate power. I thank God I am Orthodox and not under some "universal" domain.
Christ is the Head Bishop, not some pope.

The priest interviewed here is not truly loyal to the Catholic Church, in that seeds of doubt remain in his mind. The Eastern Catholic Churches together with the Roman Church are merely expressions of the of the same indivisible and perpetual universal Church. Unity is the mark of the Catholic Church united and subservient under the Bishop of Rome. Easter Canon law defines the Bishop of Rome to have full, supreme, universal, ordinary and immediate power over all churches without exception.

The most clear demonstration tha the Chruch nowadays (I understand Western and Eastern Churches, Orthodox Churches as well) is exactly the same as it was during the Father's time.
May the historical wounds be healed by the Grace of God.

Very interesting.... I would share this with others in my communities... Thanks! It is easier/more comfortable for people to listen rather than to reade... =)
