He said the d is support, if i use this the swing is to cover front of my net in case we lose puck on breakout and going into offence zone the second backs up the player carrying puck and if he goes in the shooter cuts back to top , this is an example of these two players doing a specific job he probably will add players as they progress of course there will be five players in the game this is one part

Depending on the play. the D might not even ring it up the boards and just look for a break out pass

why not involve as many in the drill as possible. Now I have d man practice a rim pass. You have an extra guy standing around doing nothing

you don't need that extra guy shooting the puck up the boards, use the guy who shot it to grab a puck and start the breakout on the other side.
