  • It wold be safer to push a boton to disconect the rope

  • @fastzeek no its also used for evacuation on runways etc

  • the slide is only used when it is a water landing right? because the door is near the water level, the slide/raft is horizontal, so when the last person detaches the slide, he/she will not fall to the water because it is already floating on the water

  • Hehe^^ no, the some slides have a disposable knife for cutting the slide out from the aircraft, after the cabin crew disconnected the slide, the crew can now throw the knife away, if not the ropes would automatically disconnect form the aircraft(may vary from other aircraft)instead of the manual cutting of the ropes

  • Not unprofessional at all. If the aircraft has gone down, all the passengers have disembarked, the last crewmemer must disconnect the raft from the plane, hence the lift up, disconnect and cut the line. Otherwise the aircraft would just pull the raft down to the bottom of the ocean.

  • i'm not being un-proffesional or anything but thats would all be a bit complicated if u were drowning

  • A320, A330/A340/A380 in use

  • ah now it does :)

  • video doesnt work for some reason :S
