I love GEORGE JONES because he tells the truth. He's never hid anything from his fans, if he was drunk , he would tell you he couldn't perform because he was drunk, he wasn't proud of it, but at least he was man enough to man up !! 100% class act !!

George's book, "I've lived to tell it all", if you would read it, you would understand why he didn't show up for his performances... He is indeed the #1 country singer in my book and no one will ever take his place..

George will be 80 years old this Sept.12. This was his first chart song that he recorded for Starday in 1955. At that time Harold "Pappy" Daily was his
manager/producer. George holds the record for the most charted singles 140 and 78 of those made the top 10. This guy really is a living legend.
