UPDATE: June 16, 2010
I Decided to just bite the bullet get the 4GB card so I did that and it worked. this camera now has 4 hours of recording time. I can get about 4 hours of recording out of this thing as opposed to the 1 hour I get with the original 1GB card.

I was tinkering with my shift3 USB video camera and I happened to open it up b/c I wanted a look inside and guess what I found inside. A 1 Gigabyte Micro SD card. does this get any better or what? I would say thumbs up this video b/c youtube removed the star rating system and replaced it with a thumbs up/Down system. I dunno if you thumbs up a video and it gets added to your favorites to experiment with that as well. I hope you enjoy this vid of my discovery. This is so awesome and will be even more awesome if the upgrade actually works. L8er.

  • i opened my maxell flash drive and it has a micro sd inside!

  • @47crazed

Buy a 4GB or whatever size microSD card and stick it in that maxell. Is is removeable?

  • @coondogtheman1234 no, its not removable because its soldered inside

  • @47crazed

Are you sure it's soldered in? does it look like the microSD holder here? b/c if it does you just slide the metal thing over and it should release the card. then you just change it for a larger one but copy your stuff off first before removing the card. Also you can use it as a microSD reader.

  • wow, who knew now that is awesome, if this cam ever quits working, i got a free 1 GB card SWEET !!!

  • @joeh690

There you go. Although 1GB isnt that much memory nowadays AND you'll need a MicroSD Reader. so if the cam doesnt work but you plug it into your PC and it shows up as a flash drive then you can use it as such. THEN if you buy an even bigger size card you now have an external storage device.

  • @coondogtheman1234 google "onyx mini maxell" i dont thinks its a micro sd holder

  • yeah it would suck buying a card that didn't work. by the way, 10$!? over here I had to pay 6 pounds (discount from 10 pounds) for 1 gig! and it is awesome that it is changeable so you can put whatever size you want in there

  • it could be possible

  • @adam8871

I realized last nite that theres room for another set of numbers on the remaining recording time but it just shows up at 2 Zeros on the time display it says 00:54:00 so it possibly could be microSDHC compatible.
