From http://intheknowtraveler.com Chichen Itza is one of 21 finalists in the " New Seven Wonders of the World" poll. Deservedly so. I was amazed by the size of the area and incredible architectural developments of the Mayan without the aide of a laser level, 18v cordless drills, sanders, carbide bits, or Home Depot.

What is more amazing is that twice a year, for only an hour, on equinox (when the day and night lengths are the same), and with clear skies, the pyramid creates a shadow on itself... Fortunately Paco and his 40 years of service at Chichen Itza can describe it better and I was glad to have my cameras -- otherwise I might not believe it. Check out another ITKT video on Youtube at Dev9393.

  • I went to Chichen Itza in 2008. It was a very interesting place to visit. Good video. Check out my Cancun, Mexico video on here to see my pictures of Chichen Itza... it shows several buildings not just the pyramid.

  • @ambrosius It is not heresy. The person who replied about it here (jettero1) is just misinformed I think, from what I understand this pyramid was built after Christ was supposed to have visited the Americas. There is also no way of knowing if this city was one Christ appeared at.

  • IM GOING THIS SATURDAY XD MWA HA HAHAHAHA

  • I was there last week. It takes your breath away. It is a stunning piece of construction and it is a giant calendar. You can't climb up the stairs any more but the main temple is surrounded by other buildings and of course the famous ball court. It is now a world heritage sight and you must go there before you die. Wear a good hat and take sun lotion because it is hot there.

  • Grüße aus der Oberlausitz!

  • The book of mormon is a heresy. I can't wait to go to Chichen Itza, it is really exciting. I'm going there this May.

  • This is one of the sites that the ppl of Nephi waited for Christ to come and he did to his other sheep of his fold as he said in the new testement "other sheep i have but are not of this fold" he went to these ppl about AD33 and blessed them and they had great faith as there kings and judges fortold it, the history is found in a priceless book called THE BOOK OF MORMON.

  • Very cool place !
