Stephen Plays: Skyrim #22

We learn a bit about smithing today, then head to the Silent Moons Camp to cause a bit of trouble. We also meet some mammoths and their very grumpy owners.

This is also the first Skyrim episode (and StephenPlays episode, actually) available in 1080! However, the episode was captured in 1080i (my device can't do 1080p—it's too taxing on the card), and I feel that the quality becomes slightly muddied when compared to the crispness of 720p. Progressive footage is just way better than interlaced, even if the resolution is lower. For this reason, the rest of the LP will continue with 720p. Thanks for understanding! (No but seriously, 720p looks better, trust me.)

Hey Stephen, I'm thinking of doing quick little Skyrim lets do a dungeon videos, I have a PVR, but I was just wondering how you set up for your LPs on Xbox I know there are tons of videos on how but maybe you have a different way of doing it? Anyways if you have the time please answer my question? ;]

@TheJacob213 I play in 720p with component cables hooked up to my Black Magic Intensity Pro. There's really not much more to tell, but if you have any specific questions I'd be glad to answer them.

@TheJacob213 Ah, okay! Well, while I'm recording the game footage I also have Soundbooth open (a free alternative would be Audacity). I use a headset with the output attached to the headphone jack of the television and the mic attached to the mic jack of my computer. That way I can hear the game without it interfering with my mic. When I'm done I just put the recorded audio with the video and export it.

I'm sitting here expecting Stephen to feel bad for the kid and at least try and talk to him some more and maybe even go off on a tangent about how he, or somebody he knew growing up, was a victim of bullying.

zoom uses stamina, and time slow affects your draw speed, so it's best to pop out of zoom when drawing your arrow between shots.

you should do more side quests that when you get to the main quest, you could fast travels to places

it would really be in your best interest to buy a horse it will allow you to get where you need to go a lot faster, your allies will keep up, and your horse can attack things if its in danger

@stephenplays Oh i forgot to mention the most important part of the cooking foods xD you need to find cooking pots inside of houses and such. They're usually a pot on a large spit across open fires. They arent terribly hard to notice, but just thought i'd tack that on since i forgot to mention that xD
